A STUDY ON THE PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY PATIENTS

Abstract
|
|
|
This study carried out on 4,994 patients who visited emergency room of ten- general hospitals in Seoul during two weeks from Jan. 11th to Jan. 23rd, 1983 and compared the proportion- of psychiatric emergency patients according to each background.
The- major findings are as follows
1) . The- proportion of the psychiatric emergency patients to the total emergency patients by every general hospital differs front- the proportion of total emergency patients by each general hospital.
2) The proportion of psychiatric emergency patients to the total emergency patients: is 3.6%- acid similar to the previous study.
.3) The. Proportion Of psychiatric emergency patients by date of visit in weekend is_ 3.3% and, is lower -than other days.
4) Disposition after emergency care by distribution of psychiatric emergency´ patients: In cases of admission and death are 2.7%.
5) The proportion of total emergency patient having insurance is 22..1% and higher than that of psychiatric emergency patients.
